Ho Chi Minh City is set to commence construction on 14 key transport infrastructure projects in 2026, as part of a broader plan to implement 77 priority works during the 2026 – 2030 period, according to the municipal Department of Construction.
Among the projects slated for groundbreaking are the city’s Ring Road 4, Metro Line No.2 (Ben Thanh–Tham Luong section), a sea-crossing bridge connecting Can Gio with Ba Ria–Vung Tau, and major bridges including Can Gio, Phu My 2, Thu Thiem 4, and Cat Lai. Other planned works include an interchange linking the Ben Luc–Long Thanh Expressway with Rung Sac Road in Can Gio, as well as dredging, environmental rehabilitation, and infrastructure development along the Van Thanh canal.
In addition to these new projects, the city aims to complete approximately 10 major works in 2026. These include Ring Road 3, the An Phu and My Thuy interchanges, National Highway 50, and a pedestrian bridge across the Saigon River.
Under the city’s 2025–2030 action program, investment in the 77 transport and technical infrastructure projects is estimated at over VND 1.78 quadrillion (USD 67.76 billion). The plan reflects Ho Chi Minh City’s determination to build a modern and synchronized transport network to support long-term socio-economic development.
