Taiflex Scientific Co., Ltd., a global producer of flexible printed circuit (FPC) materials from Taiwan, has officially opened its new manufacturing facility in Thailand. The factory is located in the Amata City Chonburi Industrial Estate in Chonburi Province. The opening ceremony was led by Taiflex Chairman Sun Ta-Wen, CEO Jiang Tzong-Hann, and General Manager of Taiflex Scientific (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Liu Ling Chun. The event was attended by representatives from the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT), Amata Group, local business associations, clients, and partners.
Taiflex began establishing its Thailand base in 2022, with work including construction, recruitment, and production planning. The factory covers about 42,000 square meters and serves as a key operational site for the company in Southeast Asia. The first phase, including a production facility and office space, was completed by late 2023. Trial production followed, and full operations began in the first quarter of 2024. Once fully operational, the plant is expected to increase the company’s global production capacity by 50%.
The launch of the Thailand facility aligns with ongoing global supply chain adjustments aimed at increasing resilience. As other major FPC material producers also expand into Southeast Asia, Taiflex’s presence is expected to strengthen the regional supply network. Thailand’s established automotive sector and industrial ecosystem further support this strategy. As the only FPC material supplier with a factory in Thailand and established automotive certification, Taiflex aims to support local supply chains with timely, certified products and services.
