Kerry has inaugurated its expanded office and Research, Development & Applications (RD&A) facility in South Jakarta, underscoring the company’s strengthened commitment to advancing food innovation and fostering co-creation in Indonesia and the broader Southeast Asian region.
Kerry has expanded into a new 1,200-square-metre facility at RDTX Place in Kuningan, featuring two flavour creation and application labs, a fully equipped sensory suite, and a collaborative Co-Creation Lab to strengthen partnerships with customers. The upgraded site is intended to enhance the company’s capacity to deliver healthier, locally tailored solutions in categories such as snacks, beverages, and ready meals, while also serving as a regional hub to support key Southeast Asian markets with agile, co-developed offerings.
In the first half of 2024, Indonesia’s food and beverage sector contributed more than 7% to the national GDP, underscoring its role as a key pillar of the economy; with the population projected to surpass 281 million by 2025, demand for nutritious, sustainable, and culturally relevant food products is expected to keep growing despite ongoing macroeconomic pressures.
Kerry now operates two manufacturing facilities in Cikarang and Karawang, the latter, opened in 2023, marking the company’s largest greenfield investment in Southeast Asia, while its South Jakarta site highlights its sustainability commitment through energy-efficient systems, smart lighting, and sustainable materials, with a LEED Gold certification pending review.
