Japanese retail giant AEON Vietnam has commenced construction on a new shopping center in Hai Duong province, marking its continued expansion in Vietnam. With an investment of approximately USD 47.2 million, the AEON Hai Duong Shopping Centre is slated to open in the third quarter of 2026.
Situated at the intersection of Ring Road No.1 and Vo Nguyen Giap Avenue, just 2 kilometers from the Hanoi – Hai Phong Expressway, the 3.6-hectare complex will feature a gross floor area of about 38,100 square meters. It will offer parking for nearly 600 cars and 1,200 motorcycles.
The project is expected to create around 1,000 jobs and promote the consumption of high-quality local products from Hai Duong province. Tezuka Daisuke, General Director of AEON Vietnam, emphasized the company’s commitment to contributing positively to the region’s sustainable development.
The groundbreaking ceremony, held on April 19, 2025, was part of nationwide events commemorating the 50th anniversary of Vietnam’s Reunification. Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son and Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Naoki Ito attended the event, highlighting the project’s significance in strengthening Vietnam – Japan economic ties.
AEON Hai Duong is designed with the concept of a “Third Place,” aiming to be a welcoming destination where customers can relax, connect, and enjoy meaningful moments beyond home and work.
