According to the Acting Minister of Health of Vietnam, the goal of the initiative is to provide full information on the prices of medical equipment in order to create a basis for medical facilities to refer to, helping handling shortcomings in bidding for medical equipment and making the medical equipment market more transparent and competitive.
The Ministry started announcing medical equipment bidding results on its portal since April this year and the winning bid prices for 50,000 pieces of medical equipment, have already been publicized.
Moreover, the Health Ministry has announced that it will work with custom offices to get complete information on prices of medical equipment imported to Vietnam. It will provide instructions and necessary information on the price of the device, along with device name, model, manufacturer, country of manufacture, configuration, basic technical features, warranty, training, tax fees, installation requirements and commercial conditions.
