Sunway Medical Centre, a leading private tertiary hospital in Malaysia has officially established a Command Center for Telemedicine Services which will serve as the focal point for the coordination and delivery of all its telemedicine services. The healthcare provider is part of Sunway Group, one of the largest real estate conglomerates in the country.
According to its Chief Executive Officer Bryan Lin Boon Diann, the first phase of the Telemedicine Command Center offers first-level healthcare advisory services to patients. Other services at the center include:
- 24 x 7 real-time operations on a daily basis
- Wide range of communication platforms including call in, email or reach out functions through social media platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp
- The attending nurse or medical officer shall provide advice or make recommendations to consult a specialist at Sunway Medical Centre
- Assistance for arranging appointments with the respective consultant.
Some of the center’s long-term plans include linking to other hospitals, universities, or other world-class research centers for medical-related education programs. It may also undertake medical-related discussions, meetings, and conferences for education and consultation purposes.
