RS Media & Publishing Company (RS Media) has moved its business category in the Stock Exchange of Thailand from “media & publishing” to “commerce” with effect from March 29. RS Media operates satellite television stations and radio stations and organizing and broadcasting sports events. It is also involved in multi-platform commerce, which currently contributes the largest chunk, around 60%, of its revenues. Media accounts for 30%, while music and other businesses make up the remaining 10%.
RS company will focus on expanding its multi-platform commerce (MPC) business via TV channels in Thailand, as well as online channels and sales representatives. It plans to collaborate with partners to produce original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and original brand manufacturer (OBM) to produce own brand products, while enhancing its use of big data analytics. The focus is to establish itself a leading manufacturer and distributor of health and beauty products, food supplements and accessories.
The company is also exploring opportunities abroad through partnerships with Chinese e-commerce giants, such as Alibaba and JD.com.
The company has adjusted its estimated revenue for this year to THB 5 billion (USD 156 million), a 30% increase from the previous year. It is expected that its MPC business will generate THB 3 billion (USD 94 million), a 41% increase over 2018.
