Achiko AG and PT Indonesia Farma Medis (PIFM) have established a new joint venture called PT Achiko Medika Indonesia. PFIM and Achiko will jointly manufacture and assemble Project Gumnuts Covid-19 test kits for the Indonesian market.
Other companies will be involved too. PT Mitra Asa Pratama, a leading distributor of medical and diagnostic devices in Indonesia with vast network reach into government, healthcare institutions and retail markets, will help with further distribution and marketing together with PT Pharos Indonesia, one of Indonesia’s largest pharmaceutical conglomerates with reach into two of the biggest pharmacy groups in the country.
The next step for the joint venture to complete regulatory approvals, getting the technology into test kits and moving them into the market as soon as practicable. These test kits will be integrated with Achiko’s Health Buddy (Teman Sehat) mobile app. It should be highlighed that Indonesia has the highest number of Covid-19 cases in South East Asia, as well as positivity and fatality rates.
