MDEC is the Malaysian government’s lead agency tasked with driving the growth of the digital economy in the country. Together with the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, MDEC heads the National eCommerce Strategic Roadmap, an initiative meant to spur on e-commerce adoption among Malaysian firms and double the country’s e-commerce growth rate. By 2020, the target is to have e-commerce contribute RM 211 billion (USD 51 billion) to the national GDP.
The company’s cloud platform act as an integrated “back office” for users to manage or automate their commerce process by handling the entire value chain from multi-channel content, order, inventory management to warehousing and last mile delivery. It offers accounting and marketplace integrations with Lazada, Qoo10, Shopee, Shopify, Redmart, WooCommerce, Honestbee, Quickbooks Online and Xero.
According to Synagie, the company will leverage MDEC’s nationwide network in Malaysia to accelerate e-commerce adoption and allow business to sell their products online in China and Southeast Asian markets in their network.
