PT Pertamina will use Honeywell UOP technologies to produce advanced biofuels at its Plaju and Cilacap refineries in Indonesia. The UOP Renewable Jet Fuel Process technology will be used at its Plaju refinery in Palembang, South Sumatra, and the UOP Ecofining technology will be used at its Cilacap refinery in Central Java.
The biorefinery in Plaju will process 20,000 barrels of vegetable oils and fats per day to produce renewable jet fuel, diesel fuel, and green liquefied petroleum gas, while the existing Cilacap refinery will process 6,000 barrels of vegetable oils and fats per day to produce advanced biofuels.
For these two projects, UOP will provide technology licenses, basic engineering, specialty equipment, catalysts, as well as training. UOP has been working with Pertamina for nearly 50 years, licensing technologies to Pertamina’s other refineries in Dumai, Balikpapan, Balongan, and Kasim.
