Giant Malaysia, also known as GCH Retail (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, has unveiled plans to invest MYR 400 million (USD 105 million) to launch 50 hypermarkets across Malaysia within the next five years. This move aims to reinforce Giant’s market share in the Malaysian retail market, with a focus on offering a wide range of products at competitive prices.
Amidst the evolving retail scene in Malaysia, the company is planning to introduce ten new outlets in West Malaysia next year. The estimated cost for inaugurating a Giant hypermarket is about MYR 8 million (USD 2 million), and a budget of MYR 400 million to MYR 500 million (USD 105 million to USD 131 million) has been assigned to launch 50 branches in the forthcoming five years.
Furthermore, GCH Retail (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd recently initiated their extensive growth plans with the opening of the Giant Rawang Hypermarket, emphasizing their commitment to community enrichment and variety. This new outlet is also featuring promotions with offers priced as competitively as 10 sen (USD 0.02).
